Non wavy waverunner

Hi Ladies,  I am trying to start working on the waverunner at Bumble Beans.  My strips are not coming out nearly as wavy as Victoria's.  What am I doing wrong?  Do I need to cut stronger curves?  If only this had happened in Home Ec!

I have pulled these fabrics to start a Wave runner quilt. Victoria is so inspiring. I have had company for the last 3 weeks. I hope to begin playing soon.
