Non wavy waverunner

Hi Ladies,  I am trying to start working on the waverunner at Bumble Beans.  My strips are not coming out nearly as wavy as Victoria's.  What am I doing wrong?  Do I need to cut stronger curves?  If only this had happened in Home Ec!

    I think it's hard to sew wavy when you really want to...LOL!
